Brad Pitt To Take On 'The Odyssey'

The Iliad worked out fine for Brad Pitt, so why not The Odyssey? Brad played Achilles in 'Troy,' and now he may star as Odysseus in a modern adaptation of the epic Homer poem, according to Variety. So modern, in fact, that it will take place in outer space.

Brad's Plan B production company will produce with Warner Bros. with the hopes of Brad headlining the project. 'Mad Max' director George Miller may also team up to adapt the classic adventure that follows the Greek hero's journey home to Ithaca after the Trojan War. Along the way, he battles armies and mythic creatures such as the Cyclops and the deadly Sirens.

Brad's buddy George Clooney also took on The Odyssey in 'O Brother Where Art Thou,' which transplanted the epic story to the deep South, courtesy of The Coen Brothers.
