‘When I was very young, 12, I had a relationship with my stepmother. She was about 28, 30,’ the 69-year-old actor told the U.S. TV show The View.
‘My father never knew about it. It was very normal. She didn’t make me feel bad about it.

Equally as shocking is Hamilton’s insistence that he doesn’t believe he was molested by his stepmother, June Howard, even saying that if that’s what it was, he’s “down for it again”. He doesn’t believe at all that it was harmful to him in any way, and swears it didn’t feel abnormal. A 12-year old having sex with anyone is abnormal, a 12-year old having sex with his stepmother goes so far past abnormal it can’t even see abnormal anymore. George insists that from his point of view it was never anything that was crazy or warped him in his life.
Young George was living with his father and stepmother in New York when his father’s wife initiated the affair.
‘One rainy day, when Dad was at work, I was lying on the daybed in the living room where I had been sleeping,’ he writes in the book.
‘June, in an ice-blue peignoir, came over to join me.
‘She didn’t say anything. She just lay down beside me for a while, then mentioned something about “cuddling”.
‘What followed was as natural as the birds and bees neither of my parents had gotten around to telling me about.
‘There was nothing film noir about it, other than the hard fact that I had just betrayed my father and had sex with my stepmother.
‘Not that there was anything maternal about June. I didn’t feel any family tie to her. I was without guilt, even toward my father.’

George’s mother had divorced his father when she caught him in a compromising position with June Howard in a hotel room. Hamilton surmises that a child psychologist would say that he was having his revenge on his father for hurting his mother, but adds that he’s lucky they never made him go to a child psychologist. He laughed throughout the story and even put The View women, who initially were appalled, at ease with the concept enough to laugh along with him.
Adding to the anomaly, “Gorgeous George” said that years later, after June Howard and his father had divorced, and George was an adult and an actor in Hollywood, he ran into Howard again and they briefly rekindled their sexual relationship.
