Danity Kane strip before split

PETA.org: With last night’s announcement on Making the Band that Danity Kane members Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods are leaving the group, PETA is forging ahead with plans to release its new anti-fur ad campaign starring all five original members. Aubrey, Shannon, D. Woods, Aundrea, and Dawn recently jumped at the chance to shoot a new ad for PETA with their best smiles on–and all their clothes off. The sexy pop stars are the latest celebrities to pose for PETA’s iconic “Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” ad series, which will run in magazines this fall. Formed on MTV’s Making the Band reality show, Danity Kane released its second album, Welcome to the Dollhouse, earlier this year. The video for the hit single “Damaged” was nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards.

“I’ve always been against fur,” says Aubrey O’Day. “I decided to join this campaign because I would rather go naked than wear fur.” Adds Dawn Richard, “Animals don’t have the voice to speak out, and that’s where it’s our place to come in and stand firm ….” And Aundrea Fimbres continues, “Any time we would see people wear it, we’d be like, ‘Gosh, why’d they wear that? That’s so sad. That was a living animal at one point.’”
