Variety is reporting that the answer is yes -- Showtime has renewed the series for, not only a fourth, but also for a fifth season. Each season will include 12 episodes, according to the trade.
“Dexter”’s third season brought back Michael C. Hall (“Six Feet Under”) as the show's central character -- a serial killer with a heart of gold -- and saw the debut of Emmy winner Jimmy Smits as Miami's grieving District Attorney who seeks to avenge his brother's mysterious death. The cast is rounded out by Julie Benz, Jennifer Carpenter, David Zayas, C.S. Lee, Lauren Velez and James Remar.
