I Like It I Don't Like It

Opie's back! Hollywood director Ron Howard revives his '60s boyhood role as Opie Taylor on the "Andy Griffith Show" in a new ad urging people to vote for Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

Howard also revisits his "Happy Days" character Richie Cunningham and appears with former co-star Henry "Fonzie" Winkler.

Andy Griffith himself, now 82 years old, also makes an appearance as Sheriff Andy Taylor in the ad, telling Opie that he can one day grow up to vote for Barack Obama.

  • Bring America back to the Happy Days! Even Floyd and Goober have the brains not to vote for John McCain. They are the true Joe the Plumbers of the world. Vote for change.

  • I find it totally inappropriate that "Opie" and the sheriff are telling people who to vote for. They should be encouraging people to vote not telling them who to vote for.

  • This was great, really made me smile. I can't believe anyone with any intelligence would vote for McCain, he is so ignorant! And Palin, you think Dan Quale was a joke?

  • "Happy Days" are Gone Days for the USA. Hollywood should entertain; never cross over from histronics (acting) by advocating/endorsing politicians or ajendas which are contrary to the founding ideas (Christianity) of the USA. Doing so, historically, has negative repercussions.
