'Person of Interest' in Jennifer Hudson Case

"The Insider" has obtained an updated mug shot for William Balfour, the man listed as a "person of interest" in the double homicide investigation stemming from the murders of Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother on Friday.

Chicago police have said no suspects have been named and Balfour remains only a "person of interest" and has not been charged. He was transferred from Chicago police custody on Sunday to the Illinois Department of Corrections "based on his active parole violation unrelated" to the homicide investigation.

Balfour, 27, was also sought in connection with a weekend Amber Alert that was issued for Julian King, the seven-year-old nephew of Jennifer Hudson who had been missing since the murders on Friday. Police confirmed today that King's body was discovered in an abandoned SUV sought in the Amber Alert.

  • omg i feel so bad for jennifer it made me want to cry when my mom told me about the situation that's terrible and for someone to just abandond that baby's body like that deserves life without perole

  • I am NOT blaming the mother, but what was she thinking? hooking up (married? not clear) with a guy who spent 7 years in prison for attempted murder... She certainly would do it differently if she could, but she can't. Given the history of the man...

    • I am sure that we all have done stupid things in our lives looking back..however I am sure that she never expected this. I wouldnt blame Julia for what her husband did she picked a bad guy but that didnt mean she thought he was going to kill her...
