Riverdance performer Michael Flatley was a surprise judge on the show tonight! Also, the contestants performed a hip-hop, dance-off!
Julianne Hough and partner Cody Linley danced the Samba right before her appendix surgery scheduled for tomorrow! Judge Carrie Ann Inaba calls the performance "intense" and says Cody is always improving! Bruno Tonioli did not agree and said he got the dance "all wrong!" Michael says "the best is yet to come" for Codey. Cody scored an 8 from Carrie Ann, an 8 from Michael and a 7 from Bruno. Total score: 23!
Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas danced a vintage Cha-Cha-Cha in an attempt to prove that she deserved to be in the competition! Bruno told Cloris, "You have to be the only person in the world to sell such nonsense and people buy it!" Michael called Cloris "a legend" but told her she was "incredibly lucky" to have her partner. Carrie Ann was not impressed at all with her performance saying she was upset that they lost a talented dancer like Toni Braxton and kept Cloris. The judges all gave Cloris a score of 5 totaling 15 points.
Lance Bass and partner Lacey Schwimmer made a comeback as they danced the Jive to "Tooti Frutti" -- and the judges loved it! Bruno says, "The Lance is back on target!" He continues, "That's the way to take on the stage!" Michael says Lance had "everything tonight" and "came out smokin'!" Carrie Ann says, "That was it!" The scores: all 9's across the board giving Lance 27 points!
Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson danced the Ramba to song "Irreplaceable!" Michael called the dance "very entertaining" but would've liked to have seen more dancing. Carrie Ann said the performance was "pretty sexy." She says he adds an "emotional quality." Bruno says Warren always gets the character right but the footwork wasn't as good as usual. Warren's score: Carrie Ann gives him an 8, Michael gives a 9 and Bruno an 8! Total score: 26 points!
Brooke Burke fights a foot injury as she continues dancing with partner Derek Hough and fights to keep her top spot! The two danced the Ramba to the song "No Air." Michael says the performance "took his breathe away." He told Brooke, "I hope I have a card big enough for your score." Carrie Ann wasn't as impressed calling the dance not her best performance. Bruno called the dance "under par." Brooke scored an 8 from Carrie Ann, an 8 from Bruno and a 10 from Michael! This gave her 26 points!
Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani let loose dancing the Mambo in hopes to break out of the bottom two couples group. Carrie Ann says Susan "broke the box!" Bruno said she was fiery but her timing was off. Michael said she was a little off but called her performance "intoxicating!" Susan's score: 8 from Carrie Ann, 8 from Michael, 7 from Bruno. This gives her a total of 23 points!
7's all around for Maurice Green and Cheryl Burke who danced the Viennese Waltz to the song "Gravity!" Michael called Maurice's ballroom dancing "unbelievable" but thought it could have been smoother. Judge Carrie Ann called the performance "sweet" but said the two are still lacking chemistry. Bruno agreed with Carrie but said their moves were great! Maurice receives 21 points!
