Rosie O'Donnell expresses sadness for Jennifer Hudson and her family in an all-new post to her blog.

"The family tragedy of Jennifer Hudson -- no words will do -- a grief 2 hard 2 comprehend," Rosie writes.

"Guns and domestic violence are a lethal combination -- injuring and killing women every day in the United States," she continues. "A gun is the weapon most commonly used in domestic homicides. In fact, more than three times as many women are murdered by guns used by their husbands or intimate acquaintances than are killed by strangers' guns, knives or other weapons combined. Contrary to many public perceptions, many women who are murdered are killed not by strangers but by men they know."

  • This world is plagued with violence, something has to be done about this, most people who commit murder were in the pass, convicted of a crime of violence. Balfour was sentence seven years for attempt murder, he shouldn't even be on the streets. Seven years is not enough time for almost taking a life. Far to often we hear of domestic situations that end with someone dead or life long scars, that will never heal.

  • Iam a female ex-police officer. Access to guns has nothing to do with men killing women. If they don't have a gun handy they will kill them with some other weapon or their hands. The only thing that is going to stop the abuse and murders of womean a girls is for WOMEN in this country to stop moving BACKWARDS. Women, teach your SONS to love and respect women, teach your daughters not to be abusive to men. Look at rhe porn out there and how abusive it is to women. They don't even show the men's faces ninety percent of the tiem. These girls are teenagers and they are so pround to be in a degrading abusive porn flick. Who raised these girls?! And if you take away the guns the killing doesn't stop, Rosie, because the bad guys STILL get the guns - look at the statistics

  • When did this case became domestic violence? What I read said nothing like that and when did Jennifer's mom, and brother had. The little boy's mom was getting him out of her and son's life. So this was something that was really bad thing that happened to a family that needs what that person did. So if you can't be nice and show respect for the family then stay out of it. You let the police do there job.

  • To easy access to weapons in the US. When the numbers says that is more likely that you kill a family member than kill a buglar.... but still Americans belives that weapons is very important human right to have to protect them self. against what ? I don't know. Americans must be afraid of something, since this is very important. Look to Europe, there are murders and violence, domestic violence there too, but not nearly in American scale. It's no human right to own a gun/firearm in Europe, and we are not worried that we will attacked every second of the day either. But long as Americans let the NRA deside the politics on firearms and don't understand that there are no human right to own a gun/firearms. I'm sorry to say Jennifer Hudson Tragedy will not be the last tragedy in the US. I'm chocked over the ex police officers comment, that comment will never been written by police officer from Euope, access to guns KILLS. Less guns - less killings, easy to figure out.

  • She didn't have to open the door to come out of the closet --- the only thing she did when she came out is to admit what 99.999 percent of the population knew aldready, namely, that she was and is a lesbian. It isn't her lesbianism that is so offensive (although it is) - it's that she is so remarkably unfeminine. She's rude, crude, boorish, dykish and just plain unattractive. She says she's a "strong" woman and many people are afraid of strong women. There are many strong women who don't act like bulldykes and truck-drivers. Former Gov.
