Justin Timberlake reaches out to Britney Spears?

"I called her because I worried about her," Timberlake, 26, said recently at a press day for his new movie Shrek The Third reports PEOPLE Magazine.

"She's a great woman. I'm rooting for her," he said. "[It] seems like she's getting everything under control now."

Timberlake, who in January split with Cameron Diaz said being single has its ups and downs.

"The advantages are that you don't get in as many arguments, and the disadvantage is that you're talking to yourself," he said.

Britney checked out of Promises Malibu Alcohol and Drug Rehab Treatment Facility in late March after a one-month stint reports ACCESS.

The 25-year-old pop star entered the facility Feb. 22, after a bout of bizarre behavior that included shaving her head, getting tiny lips tattooed on her wrist and beating a car with an umbrella.

Britney has not disclosed why she sought treatment at Promises, which offers detox, counseling and 12-step programs. A 30-day stay at the Mediterranean-style villa tucked in the Santa Monica Mountains costs $48,000.
