Were Carol Alt’s tears on the witness stand real, or an act to win her $9 million face-off this week with Ron Greschner?

That’s what one trusted source, who’s seen her in action before, wonders. “I was moonlighting as a limo driver in late ‘89 and ‘90 when I was called to pick her up on East 84th Street, and she gets in with this huge Harvey Weinstein-type,” recalls our spy, now a prominent Manhattan mover and shaker. “She was livid and starts screaming and crying, ‘I was so close to Warren [Beatty], and he gave Madonna that role! And he promised me that [bleep]ing role! She was referring to ‘Dick Tracy.’ ” But when the ride ended in SoHo, Alt “just turned it off and was as sweet as anything, saying ‘Thank you, young man.’ She can just turn it on and off like that. Those were crocodile tears. She’s a good actress.” A rep for Alt had no comment.
