"My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we've certainly shared many great experiences, but at this time I have no plans to record or tour with them. I am now in the studio developing new and exciting projects that I look forward to sharing with my fans in concert soon."
It is difficult enough just to get the high-strung, high-achieving, freak-you-out Jackson family together for dinner, much less coordinate a global reunion tour. LaToya busts out her snake, Janet lowers her cage, Michael starts pounding the Jesus juice and the next thing you know, Tito and Marlon are head-butting each other and an otherwise lovely evening is shot to hell.
While it sounds fun to bring the original Jackson 5 back together again - Jermaine, Tito, Marlon, Jackie and Michael - perhaps opened by Miss Damita Jo herself - Michael is probably wise to focus on the future in the comfortable confines of a studio. LaToya and her snake would be giving the stink-eye to all those Jacksons on the stage, and who knows what they would do with little Randy Jackson.
But Motown's 50th birthday is coming up in January, within a week of the inauguration of the first black US President in history, so who knows what beautiful black magic might happen?
