America Ferrera says when people see her outside of the frumpy costumes to play Betty Suarez on Ugly Betty their are surprised by how good she looks.

The actress dons a frumpy costume, including wig and braces, to play Betty Suarez in the hit American show Ugly Betty.

‘I can just walk out in jeans and a T-shirt and people are like: “Man, you look good!”’ she says.

‘I’m lucky in that respect.'
