ABC News' Robin Roberts talked to Oprah Winfrey tonight in Chicago's crowded Grant Park, where Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is expected to speak later, and our Victoria Recano is on the scene.

At the time of the interview, Obama was leading Republican nominee John McCain in ABC's projected electoral votes, and Oprah said, "This is democracy at its finest."

Oprah told Robin of her voting experience today: "I had this moment where I wanted to start singing 'America the Beautiful' … it was emotional for a lot of people all day today."

Lady O told Roberts that when she first saw Obama speak at the Democratic National Convention in 2004, "Something stirred in me, and I believed in that moment that he would run for president."

Of her reason for supporting Obama, Oprah quoted the Bible, saying, "'What does it do to gain the world but lose your soul?'I would have lost a piece of my soul if I had not stood up for him."
