In my hometown of New York City, there was an unprecedented voter turnout. Over 600,000 new voters registered this year, and countless others stood in line for hours to be heard. And they were. Projected on large tv screens in Times Square and Harlem, the announcement of our new President came shortly after 11pm. The whole world rejoiced from Israel to Kenya, and all over our nation you could hear the crys of joy, and the tears of triumph from Chicago to Florida and everywhere in between. The world wants change, Americans want change and we are tired of waiting. We want change NOW, and Barack represents that change. He is not perfect, and he has his work cut out for him-- thanks, Bush (rolls eyes tot he high heavens). But if his campaign was any demonstration of what this man can do-- then we're in good hands. This campaign has mobilized the youth and mobilized minority communities out of the dangers of apathy. Everyone from rockers to hip-hop stars have endorsed Obama. Today is the first day of the rest of our lives...
