See More... Beyonce reveals how she spent an election night that moved her to tears -- and offers her singing services to Barack Obama on Inauguration Day!

Beyonce tells the Associated Press she was supposed to be in Japan on election night, promoting her new album, I Am … Sasha Fierce. But at the last minute she opted to watch history unfold at home with her family: "I said, 'What am I doing? I'm completely making a bad decision. I have to go home, I'm gonna kill myself if I'm not home in America,"' she says. "I knew I needed to be here."

Overjoyed by Obama’s groundbreaking win, she says she "fell asleep crying and smiling at the same time. I woke up with mascara running and a smile on my face!"

Beyonce adds that if the president-elect needs an A-lister to entertain on Inauguration Day, she’s available! "I'm there. I can't wait. I feel like all of us, we're ready to do whatever we have to do. Whatever they want -- if they need me to volunteer, they need me to sing, I'm there, and I'm ready."

  • I think it is very nice to offer her singing services. But she should follow professional protocol and wait for an invitation from President elect Obama. Let him and his camp decide and make an offer to someone they choose.

  • I love Beyonce, however I think that her singing at the inauguration would be a bad idea. The inauguration is not supposed to be entertaining at all we don't need a solo from beyonce during intermission or as an opening act.

  • I think Barack Obama is more than capable at choosing who he wants to sing at his inaugeration. He does not need to told by any-one. If anything he should ask jennifer Hudson to sing for him, that's only if she feels able to do so.

  • I like many people was a fan of Beyonce I went to her concert and bought her CDS. But time and time again she shows just how selfish she is. The shine always has to be on her, the only reason she wants to sing is for her bennefit and I believe Barack Obama is smart enought to know that thats why he chose Jennifer Hudson to sing for him the last time. Barack Obama displays humility, grace and compasion, everything Beyonce lacks. So I say no it is not a good idea for Beyonce Knowles to sing at Barack Obama's Inaguration.

  • Please, say its not so!!! We know that Beyonce has been taking voice lessons trying hard to be half as good as Jennifer, but it will never happen. Honestly she needs to sit back, relax, enjoy being a wife and leave the singing to Jennifer. Obama is not going to allow Beyonce to use him to get rankings and rating up!

    Im sure beyonce is happy that Obama won, but I can't help but think she is also seeking some publicity for this. And those who say this decision up to Obama not us, well its partly true but being that we voted for him, I feel our voices should be heard on who we want representing us. Besides Obama is smart and he wont allow that woman to use that special night to add to her fame. Just like somone else said, I have never seen such a greedy stage hogger such as beyonce. I\Its very unprofessinal to be throwing your self like that especialy with those intentions, because were not stupid and we know she desperatly wants a shine that historical day. And that to me is wrong!

  • I think the President Obama should choose someone with substance and some who has help his campaign and America in the election. Someone who made big difference in the young voters. Not saying Beyonce' isn't talented or can sing, the girl works her butt off. I think she should have waited for an invite and not volunteer her services.{SALES} I think he needs someone like Will,i.am, Common, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Christina Augullera throw in Miley or the Jonas Bros. for the girls or even one of the greats like Pattie, Aretha you know where am going.
