The actress tells Teen Vogue she was attracted to the vampire-romance because it allowed her to embody "this sort of powerful idea of untouchable, superior love."
She says that she and her costar Robert Pattinson, who plays Bella's vampire love interest, felt the pressure to perform! "It was like, 'okay, you two portray the most epic love that ever existed on the planet ... now!' "
Another challenge in playing the role of Bella: channeling her clumsiness! "I'm far from graceful," she says, "but it's really hard to be clumsy on cue. It's like physical comedy…But I decided that Bella is awkward because she's always so caught up in thinking about other things."
