See More... What was the biggest draw for Robert Pattinson to take on the role as the dreamy vampire Edward Cullen in 'Twilight?'

Despite his new-found stature as a heartthrob, Robert was initially hesitant about playing the role of Edward until he found out his love interest and co-star would be Kristen Stewart, he tells Premiere.com.

"When I read the book, and there are these moony descriptions of Edward as this God-like figure, I thought there was no way I could play him, really," Robert said. "But when I got into the room with Kristen, there was just certain chemistry."

"She's basically the reason I did the movie," Robert adds.

The 22-year-old actor tells Premiere he was a fan of Kristen's before he had the opportunity to work with her, adding: "She's really the best actress of her generation."

Check out the on-screen chemistry between Robert and Kristen when 'Twilight' hits theaters Nov. 21.

    • thats NOT a big differense in age. My grandparents are 6yrs apart but that didnt stop them from going out!!!! Anyway Edward is sooooo HOT, but he needs 2 shave his mustash.(it takes some of his gorgousness away) Bella is my new role model. She and Edward would be GREAT 2gether!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I enjoyed the movie and absolutely loved the books. I think it is great that Robert is getting alot of press but I also think that Kristen should also get credit. She is a wonderful actress. We would love to see the actors down here in Edmonton, AB Canada

  • i think robert pattinson should start dating kristen stewart they would make up a good couple even though their age is very far with each other, age really don't matter i think love is the important thing and i'm really happy for the two of them, because for me they are destined together that's why this movie will be a blockbuster hit! I am really happy after I watched this movie because it is very succesful and also great.and i am peally a collector I have every book and the soundtrack and I really go to singapore just to buy it because I relly want it and a very excellent job the cast of twilight especially rob and kristen.wish them more sucess in the future.......love your no. 1 fan in the philippines flos carmeli t. pangilinan....

    Oh, well. In interview they asked her (right in front of Robert) what it was like to kiss him, and she said "it's kinda weird, he has really sharp teeth. I kind of like it, actually..." then chuckled.

  • i think that Edward and Bella have a special relationship, its not all about the looks, but about the passion and the feeling they put into their relationship, i really admire the way they worked that out on screen, Robbert and Kristin are both amazing actors/actresses and they should be proud. great job you guy, i am a HUGE fan, and i love you Edward(Robbert) you shouldnt worry baout if you fit the "god-like" part because you are fune the way you are and everyone knows it, build up your self esteim! :-)

  • I think that the character of Edward Cullen could be played by any talented actor with some degree of success, but Robert Pattinson portrays the dangerous edge that Edward has when he is around Bella very well, i dont know that another actor would have done so well.

I can't beleive he said that, I mean she's the worst person i could ever imagined to play the role as Bella Swan, besides she cannot act when i saw the movie which is something i was looking for, i was so dissapointed and upset that i didn't finish watching it, in the book bella is totally different and kristen is just emotionless she's all the time looking with that stupid face and bella is not like that at all, i just hate her! i'm completely sure that she was not the best option to play bella, and in the book you can feel the love the pasion that there's between Bella and Edward, you can feel how much she loves her, she's totally crazy about him, but in the movie she says her dialogues without any passion i totally hat her, about rob he's hot and nice but he can't play the exact way edward is.

  • hi, i'm ira, 19 yrs. old..well, when i watch the movie twilight i was so impressed to the chemistry of robert and kristen. that was the first time i fall in luv with robert. i wish i can work with robert someday. that was real unforgetable in my entire life. aside from that kristen was very natural in her role but in that case her performance was really wow!! i never stop watching twilight over and over again. and i was excited to the next part of their story. i wish i can hug them tightly. thank you to both of you because you change my life and you change my world. i hope someday i will sit infront of both of you. thank you and God bless.
