Star reports that Paula Abdul tried to wrestle some first-class treatment out of Southwest airlines on a recent flight, only to find that they simply didn't have any to give. Star magazine reports that the "American Idol" judge behaved like a "diva," according to witnesses of the incident.
"She asked to be let on the plane and seated first," an "eyewitness" told the Star. When Abdul was told that only young children, people with disabilities and the elderly were allowed to board early, she reportedly declared, "But I'm famous! I need to go on first!"A number of fellow passengers heard the exchange, and one shouted at her: "You're no Sanjaya! You have to board like everyone else."
And then, everyone laughed, as they should have. Except for disgruntled Paula. Then, when boarding began, she managed to advance to the front of the line so that she did board before the other passengers, and even went so far as to try and keep the seat next to her free, claiming it was taken, at least until a flight attendant informed her that the flight had been booked solid and she needed to relinquish the seat.
I love how this ended up being Paula against the rest of the plane. She really wasn't thinking very strategically. I mean, what if they would have ended up crashing in the Andes? She basically put a bulls-eye on her head for everyone to eat her first.
