Court papers obtained by "The Insider" identify the man as 36-year-old Steven Burky, whom the actress alleges has been stalking her since 2002, with his behaviour escalating this past year.
Garner, 36, writes in court papers that Burky has followed her around the country and sent her packages and letters. "This past year, Mr. Burky has resurfaced and his obsessive and harassing behavior has escalated to the point of becoming dangerous and threatening," the court papers say.
"He has now shown up at my private residence and has repeatedly expressed his belief that God has sent him a vision of me being persecuted in some manner that might result in my death," Garner writes in the court papers.
The order, granted today by a Los Angeles court, prevents Burky from coming to within 100 yards of the pregnant actress and her husband Ben Affleck, as well as the couple's daughter Violet and several household workers. It also prohibits Burky from contacting Garner in any way, including via telephone, regular mail or e-mail.
