Madonna's Malawi Madness

Madonna: "I Will Be Mother of This Orphanage!"
Can you hear that? Shhh… listen closely. It’s the twittering of a thousand little tabloids and bloggers speculating about Madonna’s true intentions in Malawi.

Gossip theories abound, including: 1) a goodwill PR mission, 2) a chance to get David some face time with his biological father, or 3) finding a new brother or sister for David.

Although her rep said that she's there to work for a charitable cause, we’re still not sure we’re buying it. Someone who also (reportedly) isn’t thrilled is hubby Guy Ritchie, who told a British mag that the
visit has “disaster written all over it” and that the return to the orphanage is “tasteless.” Ouch. Aren't husbands supposed to be supportive?

School kids, on the other hand are backing Madge… that’s right, they’re keeping reporters and paparazzi at bay by throwing rocks at them. Nice job, kids.
