In photos taken by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz exclusively for Vanity Fair, Tina struts her stuff in a black strapless mini-dress, as well as red stilettos and an unbuttoned blouse showing a little cleavage.
But for those not in the know, Tina has a scar that begins at the bottom of her lip and runs across her left cheek that is barley visible. It's the permanent reminder of a violent slash attack by a stranger right in her front yard when she was just five years old. It is said that because of her scar, Tina favors her right side on her hit "30 Rock" sitcom.
"It's impossible to talk about it without somehow seemingly exploiting it and glorifying it," says Tina. "Everybody's got a better side."
In the article, Tina talks about the serendipitous timing that turned her from red-hot to white-hot when, on the heels of nabbing seven Emmys for "30 Rock," she hit the nation's zeitgeist funny bone with her dead-on impression of Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin.
She also opens up about how she transformed her image (from being "very mousy" and a bit overweight) by losing 30 pounds, putting on a pair of hot teacher glasses and making a name for herself throwing lightning bolt zingers on "Saturday Night Live"'s Weekend Update.
"I looked like a behemoth," she says of first seeing herself on the "SNL" screen, saying, "O.K., I'm starting Weight Watchers.'"
