Dark Knight Will Not Be Re-released On January 2009

The re-release of the mega-hit The Dark Knight planned for January has been Cancelled.

In September, it was announced that Warner Bros. Pictures was planning to rerelease The Dark Knight in theaters in January. We have learned that is no longer the case.

Warner Bros. Pictures domestic distribution president Dan Fellman had acknowledged in September that talks were taking place with IMAX executives about the prospect of restoring the film to some number of giant-screen venues in January. It was uncertain whether The Dark Knight would also reappear in conventional theaters.

The movie would have easily passed the $1 Billion mark had the plans come to fruition. It’s a shame, I really wanted to go see it again at the IMAX. View blog reactions
