A Cook County prosecutor told a Chicago court hearing today that Balfour came to the family's home the morning of the Oct. 24 killings and confronted Julia Hudson -- his estranged wife and Jennifer's older sister, the Associated Press reports. The prosecutor said Balfour was angry that Julia was dating another man.
The prosecutor said that Balfour and Julia left together but Balfour later returned to the home and the bodies of Hudson's mother and brother were found there later that day, according to the AP. The body of Julia Hudson's 7-year-old son was found in an SUV three days later.
A judge Wednesday also denied bail for Balfour, who has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and previsouly was incarcerated on a parole violation. Chicago Police Supt. Jody Weis denied on Tuesday that Balfour had confessed to the murders.
