The 51st Grammy nominations were announced last night, for the first time on a primetime broadcast, and Lil Wayne scored big. The rapper racked up eight noms, including one for album of the year. That's a big deal.

Gwyneth Paltrow's hubby, Chris Martin, and his band, Coldplay, are just one behind with seven nominations, also with one in the album of the year category.

Teen dreams The Jonas Brothers got their first Grammy nod, as they are up for best new artist against one-namers Adele and Duffy, country group Lady Antebellum, and R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan.
