The Broadcast Film Critics Association announced their list of nominess for the 14th annual Critic's Choice Awards today. 'Milk' and 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' are the frontrunners with eight nominations each.
'The Dark Knight,' 'Doubt' and 'Slumdog Millionaire' each earned six nods.
In addition to Pitt ('The Curious Case of Benjamin Button'), nominees for Best Actor include Clint Eastwood ('Grand Torino'), Frank Langella ('Frost/Nixon', Richard Jenkins ('The Visitor'), Sean Penn ('Milk') and Mickey Rourke ('The Wrestler).
For Best Actress, Blanchett ('The Curious Case of Benjamin Button') was joined by Kate Beckinsale ('Nothing But The Truth'), Anne Hathaway ('Rachel Getting Married'), Angelina Jolie ('Changeling'), Melissa Leo ('Frozen River') and Meryl Streep ('Doubt').
In the Supporting Actor category, the nominees include Josh Brolin ('Milk'), Robert Downey Jr. ('Tropic Thunder'), Philip Seymour Hoffman ('Doubt'), Heath Ledger ('The Dark Knight') and James Franco ('Milk').
Penelope Cruz ('Vicky Cristina Barcelona'), Viola Davis ('Doubt'), Vera Farmiga ('Nothing but the Truth'), Taraji P. Henson ('The Curious Case of Benjamin Button'), Marissa Tomei ('The Wrestler') and Kate Winslet ('The Reader') are the six chosen for Supporting Actress.
And the Best Picture nods go to 'Changeling,' 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,' 'The Dark Knight,' 'Doubt,' 'Frost/Nixon,' 'Milk,' 'The Reader,' 'Slumdog Millionaire,' 'Wall-E' and 'The Wrestler.'
The winners will be announced at the Critics' Choice Awards gala on Thursday, January 8 at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in Santa Monica, CA. For the complete list of nominations, click here.
