Adam Sandler Pulls Out All the Stops For a Smile From Sadie

On the big screen Adam Sandler is known for keeping his audience in fits of laughter and he shares with Entertainment Tonight that the same rule applies for his family -- wife Jackie and their daughters Sadie Madison, 2 ½, and Sunny Madeline, 5 weeks. More than ready to "do anything to make the kid happy" -- including parading about in a tutu and breaking "expensive stuff in the house just to see her smile" -- the 42-year-old admits that when it comes to reasoning with the toddler, "my wife is good at controlling it and saying 'Why are you upset?'" Adam, on the other hand, shares that he immediately resorts to asking her what will cheer her up! "I'm just like, what is it? What do you need? Let's do it! Alright, I'll put that on for you," explains the actor.

However, despite his willingness to pull out all stops to avoid seeing Sadie "upset for a second," Adam -- who has trouble saying no -- admits that his parenting methods may have been a bit extreme. "I look back at the 2 ½ years of being a dad to Sadie and I realize I think I could have done a little more discipline. Kid's losing her mind a little bit!" laughs Adam. Although Adam is able to keep Sadie completely content for now, he can only cringe at what the future may bring as a father to two girls!

"The conversations I have with my friends give me stomach aches. The stories I hear with my single friends: 'The night I was with this girl...' And I'm just like, 'Oh God, no.' So yeah, it kind of ruined my life...or changed it!"

With no immediate plans to add to the family, Adam is keen on eventually trying for a baby boy. Agreeing with the interviewer that it's hard to "imagine the world that Adam Sandler wouldn't have a son in," Adam says that, first and foremost, Jackie is in need of some rest and relaxation! "[I] want to give mom a little break -- she's doing a lot of work. So we'll see. Hopefully I'll be alive still," he jokes.
