"Welcome to the Late Show. Still at 11:35," Letterman deadpanned on his show Tuesday night.
Said CBS' Craig Ferguson, "Jay's getting a little older now. So 10 p.m. is kinda 'late night' for Jay."
Leno also joked about his new show, which will air five nights a week at 10 p.m. starting in the fall of 2009
"Guys, leave those boxes. We're not going anywhere," he said, adding that reports about a possible network move "were nothing but rumors started by a disgruntled employee: me."

Leno teased that Letterman would try to one-up him with a scheduling change by having a show at 9:59 p.m.
"Just when I think I'm out, they pull me back in," Leno jokingly told reporters at a press conference Tuesday. "Originally, I wasn't going to stay with NBC. But my parents said, 'Whatever you do in life, always try to come in 4th.'"
The new show will feature Leno's opening monologue and sketches like "Headlines" and "Jaywalking." Bandleader Kevin Eubanks will also return.
