Heath Ledger's Family 'Proud' of Globe Nom

Heath Ledger's family couldn't be prouder of the late actor's Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture. Ledger is nominated for his role as the Joker in this summer's 'Batman' movie 'The Dark Knight'.

"This nomination is deeply appreciated and is not lost on those of us who continue to love and miss him. We are so proud our boy's work is being recognized in this way," Heath's father, Kim Ledger, said in a family statement.

"We thank the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for honoring Heath's performance in 'The Dark Knight.'"

Other men in this category include Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr., both nominated for their roles in 'Tropic Thunder.'

The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards will air Jan. 11 on NBC.
