Assistant Breaks Arm in David Copperfield Stunt

An employee of illusionist David Copperfield was hospitalized after a magic trick went wrong during Copperfield's Vegas show Wednesday.

The blade of a 12-foot industrial fan, used in one of the show's illusions, smacked Copperfield's assistant on the arm, breaking it in several places, says the Associated Press.

The individual, known only as Brandon, also sustained facial injuries. The show ended immediately. An executive producer tells the AP Copperfield will continue to perform the trick, in which he appears to vanish through the fan's blades.
