"I want to be able to fly," she says, then reconsiders when Sam brings up the idea of teleportation: "Maybe I'd be Jeannie from 'I Dream of Jeannie,' but without the master."
In 'The Spirit,' out Christmas Day, Scarlett plays Silken Floss, the "trusty apprentice" of Sam's evil character The Octopus, who wants to wipe out the city and defeat The Spirit (Gabriel Macht), a rookie cop who was murdered but has returned from the dead to fight injustice. The film is based on Will Eisner's comic book series and written/directed by 'Sin City' creator Frank Miller.
"Villains always have great agendas," says Sam. "How mean can a person be? [My character] talks about how mean he is."
As for their holiday plans, Sam says that his family will "invite the friends over and play holiday charades. That's what we do."
Newlywed Scarlett, who just got married to actor Ryan Reynolds, offers, "Just the regular 'eat as much as you can' kind of thing 'til you fall asleep and then wake up and then eat some more," adding, "We like to watch 'Goodfellas' on Christmas. Kind of a Christmas tradition. I don't know how that became [one]."
