Idol Gives Back

I Like It I Don't Like It
Last night’s Idol was a big history making event, but the heart of the show was the incredibly emotional footage of children in need in America and Africa. With Ellen DeGeneres, Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson, and a taped appearance by Bono, the celebs were out in full force.

We can’t fault the show for doing something important with their massive viewing audience. Making money for people in need is certainly nothing to scoff at. We would, however, like to see Paula, Randy, Simon, or Ryan pony up some of their enormous riches to make a difference. Ellen, however, promised to kick in $100,000. Great but please, the woman makes at least $30 million a year... you can throw down a little more than that, Ellen.

And we have to say that the kids they highlighted felt a little exploited to us. Like when Carrie Underwood was singing to impoverished African kids - it looked more like a music video promoting her!

Ryan teased that this would be the most shocking results show in history, and we had the sneaking suspicion that it would be a non-elimination night. In the last five minutes, he announced that all were safe – but the bottom *two* contestants next week will leave.

What did you think of the show?

  • Dear Ellen~

A friend of mine, Lionel Ketchian, started a club called the Happiness Club. He's a wonderful man and I am
blessed to know him. Below is an article written about him and I'm sure you will see that he would be a wonderful guest for you to have on your show. There's a phone # at the end of the article so you can reach Lionel. Thanks so much & God Bless...Sincerely, Christine Kevorkian
