Jen Beats Brad!!

It was widely talked about that yesterday, on Christmas Day, Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt both had movies coming out. While Jen was starring in a cute dog comedy, Pitt was taking on a more serious role in a dramatic film. The world waited to see who would emerge victorious and I, of course, was desperately hoping that Jen would take it and show Brad that he wasn’t all that after all. Jen herself, of course, was much more tactful and graceful about it on Oprah when she said, “Can’t it be a tie?” Well, she almost got her wish with the preliminary figures showing that Jen beat Brad by a mere $2.8 million. But still, in the end, Jen won, as always. From Gossip Girls,

“Coming out on top in the battle of Christmas Day movie releases, Jennifer Aniston’s dog-based drama “Marley & Me” beat out Brad Pitt’s age-defying film “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” at the box office on Thursday (December 25).

With the preliminary numbers just in, Miss Aniston’s film was the top grossing release of the day with $14.6 million in ticket sales, while her ex-hubby’s fantasy flick came in second at $11.8 million.”

It’s not surprising that Aniston’s film did so much better than Brad’s and I don’t think it has a lot to do with their personal lives (except for in my case, in which it’s always about their personal lives.) I just think that on Christmas Day, people would much rather go and see a feel-good movie rather than an intense drama that features a weird midget old man that turns young. Whatever the reason, Jen won and Brad lost, so there.
