Her first dog Harry was left a stray on the streets after Hurricane Katrina and Lara adopted him from a shelter in Louisiana during the time she was hosting "The Insider" from New York.
But after being transferred to Los Angeles, Lara quickly decided to get a friend for Harry and she discovered Dandy while browsing on www.billfoundation.org, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding loving homes for needy dogs.
The two dogs sometimes accompany Lara to the studio and Dandy has even been featured on her Wardrobe Cam segment, becoming a doggy celebrity in his own right. "Dandy and Harry are the new Ben Affleck and Matt Damon with their good looks, great style and charming demeanor," Animal Fair declares.
