'The Dark Knight' Wins Big at People's Choice Awards

The "bat signal" shone bright Wednesday night from L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium, where 'The Dark Knight' scored big at the 35th Annual People's Choice Awards, and star Christian Bale dedicated an award to his late co-star, Heath Ledger.

"Here's to you, Heath," Bale said with a pump of his trophy.

‘The Dark Knight’ won an evening-high five awards: Favorite Movie, Favorite Action Movie, Favorite Cast, Favorite Superhero (Bale) and Favorite On-Screen Match Up (Bale and Ledger).

Meanwhile, the people's favorite movie stars were Brad Pitt (Leading Man), Angelina Jolie (Female Action Star), Will Smith (Male Movie Star & Action Star), Reese Witherspoon (Female Movie Star), Kate Hudson (Leading Lady) and Adam Sandler. (Funny Male Star). Fave TV stars included Tina Fey (Funny Female Star), Hugh Laurie (Male TV Star), Christina Applegate (Female TV Star) and Ellen DeGeneres (Talk Show Host).

"Dancing with the Stars" won fave Reality/Competition Show, “House” scored fave TV Drama, and Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer accepted the Favorite TV Comedy award on behalf of "Two and a Half Men." Also, two of the night's top music honors went to Chris Brown (Male Singer) and Carrie Underwood (Female Singer). Queen Latifah hosted the star-studded event.
