Patrick Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and has been fighting the disease for over a year. His first prognosis was that he didn’t have long to live. However, Swayze isn’t going quietly into the night. The “Ghost” actor has revealed to Barbara Walters in an interview with her on 20/20 that the cancer has spread to his liver.
“You can bet that I’m going through hell. And I’ve only seen the beginning of it. There’s a lot of fear here,” he adds. “There’s a lot of stuff going on. Yeah, I’m scared. Yeah, I’m angry. Yeah, I’m [asking] why me. Yeah, I’m all this stuff.”
Patrick also revealed that he doesn’t have much time left. He is focusing on all that makes him happy and is remaining optimistic.
“Two years seems likely, if you’re going to believe statistics,” he says of his life expectancy.
My best wishes for Swayze and his family. Warning. Get a box of tissues to watch these. Not even Babs’ speech impediment will distract you from the level of sad.
More Videos from the Interview on 20/20 are after the fold.
