Bob DeBitetto, President & General Manager, A&E Network told assembled press at the Television Critics Association conference that he had checked into a hospital after coming down with pneumonia as a result of his chemotherapy treatments. DeBitetto told the TCA crowd that illnesses are a part of chemo and that Swayze was sorry he was unable to attend and he will get back to promoting his new A&E show, "The Beast," as soon as he is on his feet.
DeBitetto went on to say that Patrick asked him to tell TCA journalists that he is unbelievably proud of the work he has done on "The Beast" and he thanks everybody for the outpouring of support he has received.
"The Beast" premieres on January 15 on A&E at 10:16 p.m.
