New parents for the second time Liev and Naomi Watts definitely had their baby son Samuel (born December 13) on their minds, while Daniel arrived with girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell on his arm.
On the red carpet, Daniel took time to reflect on the sudden passing of John Travolta and Kelly Preston's 16-year-old son, Jett, saying, "Condolences, obviously, but it's an impossible situation to imagine."
In theaters everywhere Friday, 'Defiance' finds Daniel, Liev and Jamie Bell as Eastern European Jewish brothers in 1941 who band together for survival and end up avenging the deaths of their loved ones while saving countless others during World War II. 'Defiance' is based on the book Defiance: The Bielski Partisans by Nechama Tec, and is directed by Ed Zwick ('Blood Diamond,' 'The Last Samurai,' 'Glory').
"It's about the human spirit; It's about what you can do in the most extreme conditions," says Daniel about the film. "It's just incredibly inspirational."
