While the stars were abuzz about the event and the awards, one of the main topics of discussion was the Inauguration. Anne Hathaway tells "The Insider" how excited she is to attend the historic event.
"I am going," she says. "I'm very lucky I got to attend the Democratic National Convention and the Creative Coalition invited me to come with them. I couldn't be more thrilled. I think we have such a wonderful man as our president now, and everyone is ready for change."
National Board of Review winners this year include Best Actor and Actress Eastwood ('Gran Torino') and Hathaway ('Rachel Getting Married'). Brolin ('Milk') was singled out in the Supporting Actor category, and Viola Davis ('Doubt') and Dev Patel ('Slumdog Millionaire') both won Breakthrough Performance by an actor. For Best Ensemble Cast, 'Doubt' shined through (Streep, Davis, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams).
Whoopi Goldberg hosted this year's grand event, which kicks off the celebration of the 100th year of the NBR.
