The night's opening act was "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus, who performed a song in a patriotic long red dress. The star returned to the stage for two more songs and greeted a special fan, Malia Obama, when she went into the crowd and grabbed the young girl's hand.
The Jonas Brothers rocked the crowd in D.C., bringing the audience to their feet to sing and dance along with the boys' hit songs.
Michelle Obama was accompanied by her mother and two daughters Sasha and Malia -- and the soon-to-be first lady received a standing ovation from the crowd.
"You kids are the future of this great nation," Michelle Obama said to the crowd. "At this extraordinary moment in our nation's history, we wanted you to be able to join in on this celebration, and share this incredible journey with us."
Other stars at the special event included Demi Lovato, Corbin Bleu, Rosario Dawson, Jamie Foxx, Bow Wow, Usher, and Queen Latifah.
