Barack and Michelle Obama shared their first dance as president and first lady at the Neighborhood Ball -- and music and film stars gathered for the special event to greet and celebrate the 44th president.

Leonardo DiCaprio addressed the crowd as the screams erupted for America's first African American president.

After Beyonce's rendition of Etta James' "At Last" for the ceremonious first dance the entertainment continued with performances by will.i.am, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, Sting, Jay-Z and Mariah Carey.

Other celebs to celebrate with the president included Denzel Washington, Faith Hill, Shakira, Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah, Vanessa Williams, and Ray Romano.

  • Too much money spent. They could have fed a third world country for that amount of money. We are in a recession. Better ways to spend the money. Don't get me wrong but it was just over the edge. All of the "green" brought in 300 more private jets then Bush. He brought in 300. Obama brought in 600. You do the math. Doesn't seem green to me.
