Remake of original ‘Karate Kid’ get slammed

Ralph Macchio, the actor who originally stared the movie ‘Karate Kid’ has slammed producers who are looking at creating remakes from old Hollywood hits and has said that a remake of the original Karate Kid should not happen.

The relatively unknown Ralph Macchio shot to international fame when he was only a teenager for acting as Daniel LaRusso in the first Karate Kid movie. The actor starred in the next 2 sequels after which Hilary Swank took over the mantle in 1994’s The Next Karate Kid.

NO NO NO! I agree with Ralph, you cannot remake this classic, everyone quotes this movie. If this movie is remade by anyone, I would not go see it! I would, however, like to see a movie with Ralph as an adult Daniel, taking in a bullied kid like Mr Miyagi did. That would be cool!

For goodness sake leave it alone. The original films were good, and it should be not be remade!

  • It's a bloody shame they are remaking the best karate movies ever. Mr. Miyagi and Daniel-san are legendary. It would be realy dumb even to think about a remake. I agree, it would be realy nice to make a remake with Ralph Machio as an adult and... take Sensei Fumio Demura (the one who did the fighting scenes for Mre. Miyagi) as the 'suddenly appearing old brother' of Mr. Miyagi in a 'real' part 5. That would do it for every real fan! Unfortunatly Morita has past away, and no one can ever take his place! Not even close!
