Hudson, 27, got a standing ovation after her rousing performance in Tampa, her first public appearance since her mother, brother and nephew were murdered in Chicago in October.
Hudson's next performance will be Friday, Feb. 6 at the 2009 MusiCares Foundation gala, two days before she sings at the 51st annual Grammys where she is nominated for four awards.
Next up, the Dream Girls star, who received two NAACP Image Award nominations (for The Secret Life of Bees and her album Jennifer Hudson) will perform at the NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles. The show, to be aired on FOX at 8 p.m. ET, will be co-hosted by Halle Berry and Tyler Perry.

Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin are co-hosting this year's Academy Awards. Who do you think will be more entertaining?
Alec Baldwin! Have you seen "30 Rock"? Genius!
Neither...I am not the biggest fan of these guys! Bring back Hugh Jackman!
Steve Martin! I have a feeling he'll bring his banjo!
