I saw the movie last night and I thought it was a fun popcorn action flick. I had a lot of problems with it (the cartoon looking CG and the eye popping plot holes that make an episode of Smallville look tight to name a few), but it was entertaining enough to recommend it.
The best part of the film by far was Venom. The look, the way he acted, and Topher Grace’s Eddie Brock was just perfect. Unfortunately, the character wasn’t given enough screen time. The film could have been so much better if Venom was the main villain.
Now that the first Spider-Man trilogy is over, I think it’s time to give the next trilogy to a new group. How about a Spider-Man 4 directed by Zach Snyder with Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man (I honestly can’t see anyone else as Peter) and Lindsay Lohan as Mary Jane? The villain would obviously be a resurrected Venom/Eddie Brock.
