I have no idea why on earth anyone would want to make the 80’s cartoon He-Man into a live-action film, but apparently someone thought it would be a good idea. Even weirder, producers reportedly have Brad Pitt in mind to star as He-Man, Master of the Universe.

Legendary Pictures, the team behind Superman Returns, are set to give the Eighties cartoon the 2007 treatment.

A movie source said: “They are very keen on Brad for the role. He’ll have to bulk up though, he’s very fit but not to He-Man proportions.”

If Brad doesn’t fancy beefing up, film chiefs have a back-up.

No word yet if Mark Anthony will be typecast as Skeletor.
