Nick Lachey Records Duet with American Idol Judge

The singer-songwriter recorded a duet for Nick Lachey's upcoming album, Coming Up For Air.

"She and I wrote it together," Lachey told Access Hollywood Friday. "Initially, just in the studio, we thought, 'All right, let's sing it together and then we'll maybe find someone else to be on it,' but she did such a great job on it."

His track with the fourth Idol judge is called "Temporary," and Lachey said they both had a great experience producing the song.

"She is one of the more talented people I've ever had the pleasure of working with and just a great, down to earth person as well," Lachey said. "I'm very happy for her that she's getting this opportunity."

The former 98 Degrees singer added: "Hopefully this song will be big for both of us."

"She's going to be far too big and busy to come on tour with me," he said.
