Michelle Obama Strikes A Pose for Vogue

Our newest first lady is making history of her own.

Michelle Obama will be gracing the cover of Vogue's March issue -- and is only the second president's wife to appear on the mag's front page (Hillary Clinton was the first). Barack's beauty was photographed by Annie Leibovitz, of course, at the Hay-Adams Hotel, where the Obamas stayed before the Inauguration.

So, why did Editor Anna Wintour want Michelle for the cover?

"Change was the clarion call of Barack Obama's election campaign," she wrote. "Though I don't think any of us at Vogue initially realized that would include the difference that was going to be made by First Lady Michelle Obama's wardrobe ... It's inspiring to see our first lady so serene and secure in her personal style."

The mag hits stands Wednesday.
