BBC’s Radio 2 D.J. Chris Evans and his wife, professional golfer Natasha Shishmanian, are new parents after welcoming son Noah Nicholas Martin Evans at 8:21 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10th. Chris shares that his wife was admitted to the hospital on Monday night but “then immediately declared that we go out for one last pre-Noah meal even though she happened to be in labor at the time.”
The couple “laughed all the way through our dinner, what a way to kill the pain and suspense of labor — highly recommended. We arrived back at the hospital around eleven, both had a couple of hours kip and then the big boy contractions kicked in.” Noah did decide to give his parents a little bit of a scare during his birth though.
“There was a bit of a twist, in his case, his umbilical chord wrapped not once but twice around his neck, poor little fella, so mum did most of the pushing and then towards the end enjoyed a wee bit of help from a very nice man called Pat. I think I may love him, I know Tash definitely does.”
Everyone is reported to be doing well, although Chris, 42, pointed out that Noah “so far, is the only one of the three of us, not to have cried. I know everyone says that about their own but he really is a bit special.”
The pregnancy was announced by Chris in July. This is Chris’ second child, he is also dad to 22-year-old Jade.
