Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty, is speaking out about his daughter's condition almost a week after the R&B star was allegedly attacked by performer Chris Brown.

In an interview with People.com, the 55-year-old salesman and freelance clothing designer describes Rihanna's current condition, saying, "There is some bruising. She will be alright. I think so."

Fenty, who says his daughter is spending time with girlfriends in Barbados while she heals, tells the Web site that when he heard that Brown allegedly attacked his daughter, "I didn't believe it. … They seemed pretty happy. I don't know what went wrong." He added, "You think you know somebody, but you really don't."

The 19-year-old Brown allegedly attacked an unnamed woman the night before both he and Rihanna were scheduled to perform on the Grammys last Sunday. Later, Rihanna reportedly checked into in Los Angeles hospital to tend to injuries. Brown was subsequently arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and released on $50,000 bail. He may face charges from the district attorney's office.

"At some point, she will speak out," says Fenty of his daughter "I hope she will stand up for women all over the world."

As for the state of the famous pair's relationship, Fenty says, "If it were me, I'd move on."

  • From what I heard, Rihanna pressed his buttons WAY harder than what she's suppose too. Yelling at him, throwing his stuff everything isn't something she should be doing, including to a guy she knows that is very much muscular. She went towards it,...

  • I think they are both young and have issues to work on. If they can not comunnicate with out violence on both parties ends, then they should definitely not get back together.

  • Physical Abuse is wrong PERIOD! I like both Rihanna and Chris Brown, but Chris has crossed the line, you never hit a woman. I hope she never goes back to him and I hope Chris looses more than his "nice guy" image over this issue.

  • It is sad when violence is used when insecurity is felt. There are no sides to choose. Even beautiful celebrities suffer from a lack of love for themselves. I just hope that they can grow spiritually from this. They both have it rock bottom with...
