Steal That Look, Forty Weeks Style: Naomi Watts at the Met's Costume Institute Gala

I do love Naomi Watts… any of you who have been following along know that I have been smitten with her entire pregnancy look and vibe since her (outing) red carpet moment in canary yellow at the Oscars. There is something so striking and secure – truly beautiful - in how she carries herself. From Naomi’s most glamorous moments, such as at the Costume Institute Gala in a stunning black and navy Zac Posen design (above) to her taking care of city errands or walking the dog like the rest of us in knock-around denim. Naomi Watts has got extraordinary and enviable bump style – and a glow that radiates for miles!

Here is what to keep in mind when stealing Naomi Watts' look Forty Weeks Style:
*Evening dressing during pregnancy is a fairly simple proposition – seek out flattering details (such as the perfect neckline) to take the look from basic black to bump-tastic!
*Long Story – if you go for full length, pay close attention to your hemline. Pregnant women (especially when I was one!) are no strangers to tripping. Hem to the correct length and remain aware of the full gown at your feet.
*Foot wear is key. A heel is a must-do and finding a comfortable one is job one! Spend some time finding the right combination of style and comfort. Feet prone to swelling will certainly expand during a night on the town.
*Skin is an accessory too! Exfoliate and tend to skin with rich oil or lotion (or a self tanner if you dare) to accentuate your glow.
*Go by the numbers. Estimate how many wears you will get out of an evening dress. If this is a one-time only dress (and you are a guest as opposed to the guest of honor) save your money. If you have a full season of functions and plan on wearing this item a great deal do splurge. Nothing feels (or looks) better than that “I feel pretty” energy.

Steal That Look Forty Weeks Style - Gala Glam

Make the most of any special occasion by glamming it up to the hit! Choose super feminine styling that feels both comfortable and sexy! Once you feel it, there is no stopping you! Add in more sizzle with partially swept up hair, strong, sparkly earrings and an evening bag that balances out the whole look. Your glam and your glow will make you the hit of the party.

This has long been one of my favorite dresses! Cadeau’s silk baby doll halter dress in navy has a super sexy neckline that cascades over the bump in an alluring flow of luxurious silk. This dress is short, offering more options and thus more wear (now and later). (left, $295)

NOM’s black evening gown is exclusive to Belly Dance Maternity. It combines a classic black empire waist, spaghetti strap dress with the added and quite elegant detailing of French fairy netting overlay. Designed to flatter, this one will draw many complements. (right, $193 and get 15% off when you use coupon code CBB)

For a classic look, try A Pea in the Pod's Black Evening Dress. This black silk gown has an alluring twist front overlay at the bust and a full to floor body.  (left, $159 on sale)

Tiffany Rose’s Paris Halter is full of major "oh la la." This stunning black silk dress features an ultra-flattering sweetheart neckline, halter top and full (and fully lined) skirt. This one is pure luxury and elegance! (right, $328 or £165.00 plus save 15% with coupon code CB3915D)

A great option that won't break the bank is the Maternity Maxi Dress with Beads from JC Penney in black. It is an easy A-line with some funky detailing including wooden beads on the spaghetti straps. An empire waist drops to a delicate drape at the bump – very figure friendly. (left, $48 on sale)

For keeping your skin soft and supple I adore Basq! While this is a belly oil, I say go for it and use it generously on arms, legs and back! This lightly scented and highly addictive oil will leave your skin soft and glowing. Radiant and smooth skin is the perfect accessory for any great look and especially for evening glam. ($36)
