It's a Boy for British Pop Star M.I.A.

Her baby was born on Wednesday, according to a posting on her official MySpace blog. "Sunday nite I came home from the Grammys still in the mood to party, I coulda easily gone out but I went home instead. Lucky I did, coz my early stage labour kicked in around 2 a.m.," M.I.A. wrote.

"He is healthy, fine, beautiful and the most amazing ever on this planet," the artist wrote about her unnamed baby boy. "Me and baby are putting our tour dates for 2010 together and making mix tapes and figuring out a way to break out of the hospital!" the pop star added. The location of the birth was not disclosed.

M.I.A., 31, whose real name is Mathangi "Maya" Arulpragasam, was born in Britain but raised in Sri Lanka. The baby's father is musician Benjamin Brewer, son of Canadian liquor tycoon Edgar Bronfman, who is chairman and CEO of Warner Music Group.
